What's on in London
Truly one of the world's most exciting and dynamic cities, London is equally well known for its arts, fashion, entertainment and commerce; it is also one of the world's leading financial centers. It all adds up to make London one of the world's most-visited cities, with some 14 million annual international visitors. This metropolis contains four World Heritage sites, including the Tower of London, along with numerous museums, cultural institutions and theaters. Last year, London became the first city to host the modern Summer Olympic Games three times. |

Things you can do:
-
British Museum: This is one of the oldest museums dedicated to human history and culture with permanent collections that are among the largest and most diverse in the world. Visit the Great Court, a vast and beautifully covered piazza, designed and installed by computer and constructed out of 3,312 panes of glass, no two of which are the same.
-
Tower of London: This historical castle played a prominent role in English history and is one of the most popular historical landmarks in Britain. The buildings of the Tower go back 900 years and contain a series of interactive displays on the lives of the British monarchs.
-
The London Eye: This incredible Ferris wheel (400 feet high) delivers spectacular views and offers a fantastic picture-perfect opportunity. It circles around slowly, offering an unbelievable birds-eye view of London's South Bank.
-
Tower Bridge: If you are interested in viewing the city from a higher level (about 138 feet), consider a tour of the Tower Bridge Exhibition and learn about the inner workings of the Most Famous Bridge in the World.
-
Shakespeare's Globe: Originally named the Globe Theater; this open-air auditorium takes you back in time. Like the original, this modern theater opens into a large circular yard surrounded by tiered seating. Now under the name "Shakespeare's Globe Theatre" it is home to live performances every summer between May and the first week of October. Tours are available all year round.
-
Buckingham Palace: This splendid palace is one of the few working royal palaces in the world today. During the summer months from July to September, visitors can tour the 19 State Rooms filled with treasures from the Royal Collection.
-
Old Spitalfields Market: The perfect shopping destination. Browse the great mix of sellers offering a wide range of goods that include fashion, footwear and gifts. You can find yourself some great bargains while taking your time to browse everything on display.
