Sun Air Jets Program Honors Veterans

In honor of Veteran’s Day, Sun Air Jets recently hosted in its hangar an evening of inspiration headlined by Capt. J. Charles Plumb, retired Naval Aviator and F-4 Phantom pilot who was shot down over Vietnam on his 75th combat mission, only 5 days before he was to return home. Captain Plumb spent 2,103 days in captivity in a communist Prisoner of War camp and has been bestowed with two Purple Hearts, the Legion of Merit, the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and the P.O.W. Medal. Sun Air Jets’ event inspired clients, friends, and community representatives to continue to strive to achieve the impossible, much like Capt. Plumb and his fellow POWs did during their darkest days in captivity.

“Captain Plumb’s story of courage, endurance, gentle humor, and motivation provides lessons that can be applied every day of our lives” stated Sun Air’s President, Brian Counsil. “Sun Air Jets hosted this event as an opportunity to celebrate, commemorate, and thank Captain Plumb and all veterans for their sacrifice and courage.”
